I started working with Arjen in November, about eight months ago. We are a small business in security installations.

When I first started working with Arjen, the business was at a breaking point. Now, profits are getting back on track. We’ve done a lot of work on the way we quote jobs and the way we liaise with clients, and that’s had a big impact on the profits. Our profit line is much higher than it was before. I’m making as much now with three guys as I was with eight guys before. And because we’re now doing our own work we can sell parts now as well, which has helped our profits.

The guidance and mentorship that Arjen provides are a big benefit. When something comes up throughout the week, I can run them past him and get some advice on what to do next. It means I now have someone to talk decisions over with, and that I deal with issues as they come up, instead of sitting on them and then perhaps getting forgotten about.

I used to try to cover every job in the business before, and now I understand where my spot is, and what my guys have to do. I use my time better now – out in the field and talking to clients. The team loves the changes, and the culture in the business has changed a lot.

I’ve left all my subcontracting work now to pursue our own work. That’s been the biggest change and the most rewarding, and Arjen’s been able to help make that transition. The business is much more under our control now, and we can choose the jobs that we do.
