What does a business coach do?

A business coach or business mentor helps you achieve your goals in business. You wouldn’t expect a sports team to make the grand final without a great coach, and business is no different. A business coach is on your side, viewing your business from an objective position, and keeping a close eye on the priorities in the business. Your coach isn’t there in the business day in and day out like you are, and as a result, they can stay focused on the big picture which is to grow your business for the long term.

A business coach isn’t a consultant – your coach won’t do the work for you. But your coach will help lay out your strategy, keep you on track, and provide the expertise to guide you.

I’ve been burned by a hard sell before

At Tenfold, we provide business coaching but we don’t sell our services. We’ll explain how our coaching works and we’ll give you an overview of the strategies we use to get results. Because we’ve been coaching since 2002, we know how to adapt successful strategies and business models to suit different businesses. When you meet with a Tenfold coach, they’ll explore what could work for your business and they’ll calculate the return on investment you should expect. You’ll know if our coach and our strategies are a good fit for you and your business.

A word of warning: if you ever feel like you’re getting the hard sell from someone who calls themselves a business mentor, advisor or coach, you probably are being “sold” to. A good coach won’t ever need to force their services on you – their results will always speak for themselves.

Can you guarantee I will get the result I want from coaching?

To be frank, no. The truth is that the guarantees you see on coaching websites are just marketing traps. Read the fine print and you’ll see that they all have a catch – which is that you have to prove that you followed every piece of advice and did everything exactly how and when your coach told you to, or the guarantee is void. If you want marketing gimmicks like false guarantees, that’s not us.

We can commit that your coach will deliver sound advice and smart business coaching that is focused on results. As the business owner it is you who will actually do the work in the business and put strategies into place. Your coach will support you and give you resources to assist you, but your coach won’t do the work for you. So, the success of your coaching experience depends on your commitment to follow through on the strategies you and your coach put into place.

My business is unique and needs special knowledge to run. How can someone outside my industry help me?

Do you do joint ventures with potential clients?

No. Our business coaches operate on a simple fee for service structure only. That means that they are incentivised to work for you, not for themselves.
