Business Insights – 20th September 2021 – What Victoria’s roadmap out of lockdown means for you

I’m here with insights for Australian businesses on 20th September 2021.

Victoria’s roadmap out of lockdown was released yesterday. As we expected, it will be a slow easing of restrictions. Many of the restrictions being eased are for fully vaccinated people only and in many cases moderate density limits apply.

I’ve included key dates and milestones of Victoria’s roadmap out of lockdown for Tenfold clients and business owners. Many of the businesses we coach and mentor are in NSW so I’ve included some key dates for the NSW easing of restrictions.

Victoria: key dates and milestones

Once 70% full vaccination (double dosed) reached – expected 26/10:

  • Homeschooling starts to phase out – starting from 6/10 (that’s only 13 days away!)
  • Repairs and maintenance in the home can recommence
  • Construction sites can move to 50% capacity

Once 80% full vaccination reached – expected 5/11:

  • Return to offices allowed
  • All children back in classrooms for all days
  • Universities can recommence on-site learning
  • Gyms and indoor sport to recommence
    • Expected 5/11 in Melb metro
    • Expected 5/10 in regional Vic (but with only 10 people)
  • General retail stores can reopen
  • Construction sites can move to full capacity
  • Regional holidays can resume

NSW: key dates and milestones

Once 70% full vaccination of the population is reached – expected 8/10:

  • Work from home if you can
  • General retail stores reopen
  • Gyms can open for up to 20 people in a class
  • Regional holidays can resume
  • Homeschooling starts to phase out from 25 October

We’re expecting further clarification for industry soon. The Tenfold business coaches have been monitoring the funding options for businesses impacted by lockdowns. We advise that we should also expect to hear further announcements on funding for Victorian businesses soon.
